IFTEX 2025: A Blooming Showcase of Global Floriculture in Nairobi
Nairobi, Kenya, is gearing up to host the International Floriculture Trade Expo (IFTEX) 2025, a premier event for the global flower industry hosted by HPP Exibitions. Scheduled for June 3-5, 2025, at the Visa Oshwal Centre in Westlands, this annual expo brings together flower breeders, growers, exporters, importers, logistics providers, and enthusiasts from over 75 countries.
IFTEX is more than a trade show—it’s a celebration of floral beauty, innovation, and the economic power of Kenya’s floriculture sector. With a focus on networking, sustainability, and showcasing the latest in cut flowers and plants, IFTEX 2025 is set to be a must-attend event for anyone passionate about flowers.

The 2024 edition of IFTEX, held from June 4-6 at the Visa Oshwal Centre, was a landmark event that set the stage for 2025. The 11th edition saw a 25% increase in exhibitors, with nearly 200 growers, suppliers, and service providers showcasing their offerings. Visitor numbers also rose by 20%, reflecting the growing global interest in Kenya’s floriculture sector. The event was a vibrant hub of activity, with the Oshwal Centre buzzing with floral displays, business discussions, and networking opportunities.
One of the standout features of IFTEX 2024 was its emphasis on sustainability. Exhibitors highlighted climate-smart agriculture and certifications like the Kenya Flower Council’s F.O.S.S. (Flower Ornamental Sustainability Standard), which promotes ethical and eco-friendly practices.
International collaborations were another key highlight, particularly Kenya’s 60-year partnership with the Netherlands. Dutch expertise in market access, technology, and sustainability, supported by organizations like Royal Flora Holland and Dutch Flower Group, has been instrumental in Kenya’s floriculture success. The presence of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands at IFTEX 2024 underscored this strong alliance, which continues to address challenges like climate change and market volatility.

IFTEX 2024 highlighted sustainability, with exhibitors showcasing climate-smart agriculture and certifications like the Kenya Flower Council’s F.O.S.S. (Flower Ornamental Sustainability Standard), which emphasizes ethical and eco-friendly practices. The expo also featured new summer blooms such as chrysanthemums and alstroemerias, complementing Kenya’s renowned roses. The Best Stand Design Competition celebrated creativity, awarding Black Tulip Group Platinum in the Perishables category, alongside Imani Flowers (Gold), Octoflor (Silver), and Subati Group (Bronze). In the Non-Perishables category, DHL Global Forwarding earned Platinum, with Kuehne+Nagel, Turkish Cargo, and Koppert Biological Systems receiving Gold, Silver, and Bronze, respectively, showcasing the event’s diverse and high-quality participants.
